About the NSF CAP Supplement

In May 2014, The National Science Foundation (NSF) announced the availability of a Commercialization Assistance Program (CAP) supplement to Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program Phase II grants. The supplemental funding is aimed at enabling the grantee to secure services that will assist with one or more of the following commercialization activities:

  • The identification and development of customers for the NSF-funded technology;
  • Providing advice on financing strategy and fundraising from private sector;
  • Establishing strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders; and/or
  • The evaluation and protection of intellectual property.

This offer is available at no cost to the Grantee; funds are supplemental, require minimal reporting (which we will help you with) and are available now. When you register with Larta, we will provide you all the information/language you need to submit to your NSF Program Director and via FastLane to apply for the CAP Supplement.
