Bioeconomy Accelerator Programme

Commercialising Malaysia's Innovations in Bio-Based Industries

The Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation Sdn Bhd (BiotechCorp) is seeking to accelerate the commercialisation of technologies and innovations developed in Malaysia. To achieve this, BiotechCorp has partnered with Larta Institute since 2009 to design, develop, and implement a series of successful initiatives to advance the commercialisation of technologies developed by emerging and established life sciences and agriculture technology companies in Malaysia. The Bioeconomy Accelerator Programme is the newest initiative presented by this partnership.

The Bioeconomy Accelerator Programme will select up to 20 companies to participate in this Programme, which will help them enhance their commercial profile, maximise their commercial potential and increase their appeal to partners and collaborators and thus deepening and broadening their market reach and visibility. Larta Institute will provide selected companies with expert advisors and world-class content, enabling them to achieve market-based outcomes that may not be otherwise possible in a defined period of time.

The Bioeconomy Accelerator Programme is a 2-phase programme:

  • Phase I - LaunchPad: All participants will go through a 7-month customised mentoring programme to increase participants' understanding and awareness level of commercialisation processes and issues relating to their respective innovation. This phase includes critical feedback from relevant industry executives in formal sessions.
  • Phase II - U.S. Soft Landing: 10 Participants (5 from each sectors) will have the opportunity to receive additional mentoring and attend a key event in the United States appropriate for the sector, with planned meetings at both venues with strategic partners/customer prospects.
